About Us
Akitu Wines is a renowned boutique vineyard established in 2002 by founder Andrew Donaldson. Our 12ha vineyard exclusively grows Pinot noir, with a focus on producing exceptional wines underpinned with strong sustainability principles.
Role Overview
We seek a passionate & seasoned Winegrower/Estate Manager to: oversee all vineyard operations; further the significant progress made in vineyard over the last few years; and be the watch-keeper/custodian of our wines, reporting to the General Manager.
There is also an opportunity to manage the Akitu vineyard jointly with another prominent Central Otago vineyard of a similar size.
Responsibilities include:
- Estate: vineyard management, equipment maintenance, pest control, irrigation, and minor farm animal care.
- Wines: primary point of contact for our contract winery, and assist in the execution of the wine production plan, as determined by the Akitu team & its long standing consultants.
Eligibility
Applicants must have New Zealand citizenship/residency or a valid New Zealand work visa. Please provide evidence of your work visa or citizenship.
