Enough about us, here’s a bit about your new role.
It’s Monday, and as the North Island Sales Rep, you’re starting your week strong. You’ve got a coffee in hand as you review last week’s sales data, checking in with the Queenstown team to align on upcoming campaigns and new stock hitting the market. Tuesday, you’re on the road. Today’s mission? Meeting a potential new stockist and catching up with key clients to ensure their taps are flowing with Canyon’s finest. You wrap up with a beer in hand, chatting about future opportunities.
Wednesday, you’re checking in with our marketing team, brainstorming activations and tapping into ways to grow our footprint in the North Island. Maybe you’ve got a lead on a new event or a venue perfect for our next big push. Thursday is all about relationships—you’re making deliveries, securing new accounts, and ensuring everything is running smoothly for the weekend trade.
Friday rolls around, and it’s a big one. You’re visiting a few key venues to check in on stock levels, chatting with managers about their upcoming needs, and finalising sales for the month. To celebrate a week well spent, you knock off with a cold one—after all, you’ve earned it.
This role is the first of its kind for Canyon in the North Island, meaning you’ll be the only team member on the ground up there. While you’ll have full support from the crew in Queenstown, you’ll need to be comfortable working autonomously, managing your own schedule, and have a real appetite for driving business growth. You’ll work remotely but will have access to a hot desk in the CBD whenever you need a base.
To excel in your new role, you’ll bring:
- 3+ years of sales experience (preferably in FMCG, hospo, or craft beer—bonus points if you’ve worked with independent retailers and bars)
- A passion for craft beer (you don’t need to be a brewer, but knowing a hazy from a lager is a must)
- A self-starting attitude—you’ll be working remotely and running the North Island show solo
- Killer sales and negotiation skills—you know how to build relationships and close deals
- Excellent communication and organisation—you’re juggling multiple accounts and keeping everything running smoothly
- A valid driver’s license—because this role comes with a company vehicle and plenty of road trips
