The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Viticulturalist plays a crucial role in the management of our sustainable vineyard operations at scale. This hands-on role will see you spearhead biodiversity through the implementation of sustainable practices, innovative technology and operational efficiencies.
Your passion for growing and leading successful teams along with your dedication to sustainability and regenerative farming practices will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote a best practice and continued improvement approach across all production activities;
Provide operational, technical and management support across the vineyard units and management team;
Develop strategic plans, identify financial opportunities, present assumptions and recommending outcomes;
Support the wider vineyard operations team, sharing knowledge and expertise to increase productivity and team effectiveness;
Ensuring ongoing certification of all Risk Management Systems, including HACCP, IS09001, IS045001, encouraging a safety-first culture within teams;
Prepare and manage annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets with Vineyard Managers;
Monitor the implementation of Duxton Vineyard systems, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across teams; and
Facilitate recruitment, induction of staff, and implement staff rewards in conjunction with HR Manager where necessary.
About you:
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in viticulture related discipline highly regarded;
Minimum of 5 years experience in a viticultural management position;
Strong financial acumen with proven experience in financial management;
A passion for effective leadership with proven experience in a similar role;
