Bell Hill is a small, quality-focused and premium producer of 3.2 ha of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on 63 ha of land. We believe in exploring the true potential of our terroir. The contribution of our limestone derived soils is at the forefront of that belief, as is our philosophy of the use of biodynamic and organic practices to further enhance that potential. The small vineyard area necessitates the combined efforts in the vineyard and winery and is aligned with the European concept of “winegrowing”.
We aim to reach the highest potential for each vintage through best practice management of resources, viticultural practices and vineyard operations though organics and the employment of biodynamic practices, wine processing and wine making techniques. For our wine customers, we hope to give them an experience of quality and true sense of place when they taste our Bell Hill wines.
We are a small team with a focus on quality and attention to detail requiring adaptability, excellent thinking and solution finding.
The purpose of this role is to assist operations in all vineyard and machinery related areas including assisting the business and ensuring its success through quality grape growing and wine making.
This is a hands-on role which includes machinery operation and mechanical acumen. We operate crawler tractors in the vineyard, a digger and other farm machinery on slopes. Activities include canopy spraying, cultivation/weed management, pruning and harvest activities.
General fencing, farming and welding would be additional skills to bring to the role.
Experience is required in machinery maintenance, servicing and record keeping.
There may be the opportunity for winery work as well, such as fruit processing, bottling, labelling.
