Akitu Wines is a renowned 12-ha Pinot noir vineyard established in 2002, with a focus on producing exceptional wines underpinned with strong sustainability principles.

We’re on the hunt for a passionate & seasoned viticultural graduate to oversee all vineyard operations and continue the progress in fruit quality & commercial volumes made in the vineyard over the last few years. This is a great opportunity for a driven, confident young person looking to advance their career and be associated with an internationally-acclaimed wine brand and vineyard.

Key responsibilities include total vineyard management, equipment maintenance, pest control, irrigation & frost control measures. You know the drill.

Qualifications and Experience:

·     Complete experience in grape growing, with a passion for Pinot noir

·     Preferably tertiary qualification in viticulture or significant vineyard experience

·     Leadership skills to motivate and guide a small team

·     Commitment to sustainable viticulture, particularly soil health

·     Strong organisational and communication skills, including computer literacy

·     Commitment to occupational health and safety procedures

·     Tractor operations in some challenging terrain and GrowSafe accreditation

·     Mechanical ability and problem-solving attitude

·     Ability to work autonomously and flexibly with seasonal overtime

·     Valid drivers and machinery licenses
