Job Description
Te Kano Estate is a focused family producer of premium Central Otago and Waitaki Wines, with vineyards in Waitaki and Central Otago. We are a fully-integrated business from growing to making, bottling, sales, and delivering world class customer experiences.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on the role as Cellar Door & Wine Club Manager. You may come from a hospitality background where you are well-versed in creating amazing experiences and customer service, or perhaps you have worked in a busy sales role and are looking for a lifestyle move. The main function of this role is to connect with and create memorable on-brand Te Kano experiences for our customers at every touchpoint. This role is responsible for the profitable operation of our Cellar Door, all DTC channels & The Wine Club. It is imperative that you enjoy customer contact, have the ability to look for sales opportunities and have a lot of initiative and drive.
This is a full-time salaried position, including weekends, as a seasonal business there are times of the year that are busier, where extended hours will be required.
This role offers broad diversity, working as part of a small, supportive team, we work together to achieve our common business goals.
As a key member of the business, the Cellar Door & Wine Club Manager will lead by example, as a hands-on Manager. You will use your initiative and creativity to develop and drive sales, always looking for ways to build incremental business and increase brand awareness.
Required qualifications and personal attributes:
Proven track record with at least 5 years of hospitality, sales or wine industry customer sales & marketing experience.
A proven track record in sales, business development, growing channels and account management.
Thorough understanding of what it takes to deliver a world class experience for customers.
A high level of personal presentation.
The ability to talk to people at all levels.
The ability to manage seasonal staff and ensure they are trained, focused and rosters are organised to maximise the opportunities.
Clear communication, strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example.
Be open-minded and prepared to challenge the status quo.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team and form lasting positive relationships with our market partners..
Actvely engage with the team bringing ideas and using initiative to drive sales via marketing channels.
A self-starter with passion for the wine industry and a winning attitude.
