Recent winners of the 2024 Workplace Wellbeing Award, they are now looking for a dedicated Vineyard Manager to oversee the operational management of the vineyard to produce the highest quality fruit.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to and supported by the Senior Winemaker, you will train and lead a team of vineyard staff as well as coordinate and oversee contractors. You will develop and implement annual management and weekly work plans, and handle Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) compliance. In addition, you will manage budgets, procurement, and spray programs, ensuring tasks are completed on time and the equipment and vineyard are well presented and maintained. Key responsibilities also include frost protection management, supervising harvest operations, and maintaining the highest level of health and safety standards.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have proven vineyard management experience and strong practical knowledge of viticulture practices and equipment. We are also open to an outstanding candidate from the horticulture sector who demonstrates the drive and ability to develop and excel in viticulture. You will have excellent leadership skills, a commitment to health and safety, and a track record of planning and budgeting effectively. Equally happy in the office working on computers, you can also operate and maintain vineyard machinery and equipment. You take pride in your work and maintaining a well-presented vineyard where every detail reflects care and professionalism.
