We are seeking a Winemaker for our established, award-winning and family-owned business. This role is multi-faceted and will be a key member of the team.

This role will commence late-November 2024, or by arrangement. The position is a physically-active role and requires a strong balance of hands-on and technical skills in our 400 tonne winery.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• All day-to-day cellar operations

• Supervise and train vintage staff

• Laboratory analysis

• Review and implementation of SOP

• Oversee safety training and management of compliance issues to provide a safe work place

• Maintain winery equipment and winemaking facilities

• Finish wines for bottling and operate our on-sight bottling line

• Report and complete audits to a regulatory body (MPI & SWNZ)

• Occasional hosting at our onsite wine shop and tasting room

Desired skills and experience:

• Degree in Oenology or equivalent

• Substantial experience (5+ years) in all areas of the winemaking process, ideally leading a winemaking team over several vintages, across a range of varietals.

• Confident in team communication and leadership skills

• Strong maths/lab skills and good engineering/mechanical knowledge

• Experience in a premium winemaking environment with a focus on Sauvignon Blanc

• Strong organizational, teambuilding and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail

• Good forklift skills

• Great communication skills, both written and spoken

• Great sense of humour and positive thinking

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Commitment to the Tasman region
