ervois Steak House in Queenstown is looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to supervise the busy restaurant, our diverse team, and our growing business! We are an award-winning restaurant, and we want someone to help us maintain our high standards, lead and motivate our team, and provide the exceptional guest service we have become known for. 

About the role: 
Permanent full-time position
Minimum of 40 - 45 hours per week 

Open 7 days a week 

$32 - $34 per hour depending on experience. 

Key accountability areas:
To be successful in this role, the Manager needs 100% focus on the job tasks detailed below.

  • This role is a hands-on, staff and guest-facing position, and is expected to lead by example in all areas of the business.
  • Manage and maintain an environment that is consistent with the group’s philosophy to exceed customer expectations
  • Team supervision and development of the diverse team to deliver an exceptional standard of service
  • Responsible for training, and mentoring all restaurant team members to develop their skills and raise their performance levels, creating a positive and well-balanced team.
  • Build excellent relationships with guests and colleagues to enhance delivery and commercial success.
  • Build a strong relationship with the culinary leadership team and staff 
  • Strictly and consistently adhere to all Liquor Licensing and Health and Safety Regulations and ensure you are aware of and comply with the requirements at all times to minimise risk to yourself, your team, and the business 
  • Manage and maintain all systems and smooth running of the restaurant are in place to ensure smooth running of the restaurant.

About you:

  • Management experience of at least 2 years in a busy venue of a similar style
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills 
  • Must lead and be part of a harmonious and engaged team 
  • Sound food and beverage knowledge including local wines, beverages, and produce 
  • Hands-on and able to operate successfully in a high-pressure environment 
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Friendly, energetic, and hard-working attitude
  • An understanding of the legislation regarding Health and Safety, fire safety, food safety, licensing laws, employment law
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a current General Manager Certificate 
  • Be guest focused

Technical requirements:

  • New Zealand citizenship, residency, or valid visa
  • NOTE: We are an accredited employer so will support visa applications for the right candidate. 
  • Excellent command of the English language
