Job Description
Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant is a world-renowned luxury destination on Waiheke Island, offering award-winning wines, exceptional hospitality, and boutique accommodation. We are seeking a Vineyard Operations Manager to join our team and oversee day-to-day vineyard activities across our five diverse sites.
Reporting to the General Manager of Wine and Viticulture, the Vineyard Operations Manager will take a hands-on approach to managing vineyard operations, assist with logistics and scheduling, and work closely with the viticulture team to ensure the ongoing production of premium wines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform all daily vineyard operations across multiple sites
- Assist with planning, logistics, and seasonal work schedules
- Oversee canopy management, pest and disease control, soil health, and young vine care
- Operate vineyard machinery and tractors safely and efficiently
- Lead, supervise, and train vineyard staff and seasonal workers
- Collaborate with the wine and viticulture team to meet production targets
- Monitor and manage operational budgets and resource planning
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and a hands-on, can-do attitude
- Practical knowledge of vineyard management and viticulture practices
- Experience operating vineyard machinery and as a competent tractor driver
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and train others
- Excellent communication skills and a focus on teamwork
- Ability to plan and manage operations within budget
- Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
Qualifications:
No formal qualifications required, however relevant qualifications in viticulture or agriculture are an advantage
Location and Hours:
- Location of work 126 Church Bay Road, Oneroa, Waiheke Island
- Must live on or be willing to relocate to Waiheke Island
- Fulltime—minimum 30 hours per week
