Invivo is looking for a Permanent Assistant Winemaker to work at our Te Kauwhata winery. Invivo & Co is the home of multi award-winning brands, including the Graham Norton range and the outstanding Invivo X SJP Sauvignon Blanc. The winery produces Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinot Gris and Shiraz and is in the town of Te Kauwhata in the northern Waikato. Yes, the Waikato. You'll need to be willing to live here or commute from Hamilton or Auckland. 

We have been growing year-on-year since we started in 2008 and now have a new opening for a permanent Assistant Winemaker.

  • 5 years minimum winery experience in the cellar
  • Winemaking qualification from a reputable institute
  • Current driver's license
  • Excellent English written and verbal skills are a must
  • Experience with winery management software and is very competent with MS Office software suite
  • Excellent general knowledge of NZ winemaking processes
  • Versatile and agile in mindset to achieve great things
  • Be ready and willing to start in January 2025

Tasks undertaken include:

  • Tank and equipment cleaning
  • Fermentation and wine additions
  • Juice receivals
  • Transfers and blending using pumps
  • Red wine fermentation pumpovers and punch downs
  • Red wine pressing
  • Barrel work
  • Record keeping
  • Customer relations
  • Ordering inventory and maintenance
  • Record keeping

Our assistant winemakers need to be cellar ninjas first and foremost. You will also need to be able to manage staff and perform administrative duties including WSMP, ordering, receipting and keeping on top of cellar records. It would be awesome if you also knew one end of a screwdriver from the other.
