The ideal candidate will need to have experience leading a small but enthusiastic team of "The Black sheep bar and grill" . We are right in a heart of Whakamarama (Western bay of plenty district, Bay of plenty) with a fantastic views, relaxed atmosphere and art gallery. We do lunch and dinner with offering of coffee and tea services.
We are looking for:
1. Previous relevant work experience at least 2-3 years within a hospitality industry, ideally at a management level.
2. Qualification in hospitality would be preferred.
3. Strong financial acumen and numerical ability.
4. Ability to manage relationship with customers, suppliers and staff.
5. Local NZ experience preferred.
6. Menu planning and maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
7. Engage with customers and handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner
8. Excellent Barista skills and knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails.
9. One free starter meal - (lunch or dinner)
10. Good Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel.
11. Hours of work – Minimum 32 hours per week
12. Manage restaurant costing
13. Must have Manager's certificate and LCQ certificate.
14. Food safety certificate is a good to have.
15. Ability to work under pressure and do multi-tasking.
16. Ability to handle customer complaints and excellent communication skills.
17. Must work weekends and willing to work on public holidays
18. Is willing to undergo drug test and police clearance
19. Day- to-day running of the restaurant and bar to comply with Health & safety Policies and the sale & Supply of Alcohol act.
20. Working with chef to develop and enhance menus and ensure correct pricing of menu items.
21. Complete understanding of Food control plan.

If you are successful we can offer you a very competitive remuneration package, the opportunity to influence the direction and success of our restaurant. Pay rate - $32.00 to $35.00 /hour (depending upon experience it may exceed).
